Crowns (or caps) are needed to further support teeth and prevent them from fracturing or breaking. They are often needed after root canals, but may be needed if a tooth is compromised by a large cavity pr a large filling.

Crowns are custom made for you by a dental laboratory, after which it will be permanently cemented to your natural tooth. The new crown will have the same shape and color as your other teeth, so that while you may know it's a crown, others won't!
